Sauvignon Blanc
Description
Sauvignon Blanc
A zesty and vibrant 2020 Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc crafted by the Marlborough pioneers, Brancott Estate. Pairs perfectly with summer salads, Pad Thai, grilled shrimp skewers, fish tacos, focaccia with dry herbs, falafel wraps or salmon linguine. The perfect wine for casual dining, a Friday night gathering with friends or a summer BBQ. Serve at 7-10˚C.
The grapes harvested for this wine were crushed and gently bag pressed off to achieve fresh, elegant juice. The juice was then promptly clarified to a fermentation tank, where it is then fermented slowly at cool temperatures to retain the very distinctive regional and varietal characters of Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough. After fermentation is complete, each tank is evaluated and blended to make this Classic Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. A large proportion of the wine came from around the Wairau Valley with the balance of the fruit coming off vineyards scattered within the Awatere Valley.
Tasting Notes:
Sweet ripe fruit characters with delightful mix of citrus, floral, pear and tropical fruit and crisp nettle highlights abound. A powerful wine on the palate, it is almost pungent in its intensity with full fruit flavours across the spectrum, from ripe tropical fruit to lush pink grapefruit.
