Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
Description
Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
Wine of California, USA
The cool coastal ridge of Sonoma Coast provides ideal conditions for growing our complex and elegant chardonnay. The juicy, fresh fruit aromatics of this wine mingle with floral, citrus and tropical notes.
Reata is the Spanish word for lasso, also known as lariat, which honors our ranching tradition. Like a lariat, the individual components of this Chardonnay are woven together for an exceptional wine.

History: Reata comes from the Spanish word for lariat and lasso. The lasso honors our winery's ranching tradition and winemaking philosophy. Just as lassos are woven together, our wines are sourced from exceptional vineyards and woven together by our winemaker. Our Winemaker Linda Trotta was named Napa Valley Winemaker of the Year in 2018.
Regional information: Every year, our winemaker hand-selects desirable vineyards sites from microclimates in the Sonoma Coast. This 2020 vintage includes grapes exclusively from revered American Viticultural Areas (AVAs) including Russian River Valley and Sonoma Carneros
Vinification: In the winery, 55% of this wine was barrel-fermented, went through malolactic fermentation and received fine lees stirring. This enhanced the integration of toasted oak notes and created a rounder, creamier flavor and texture, which is especially noticeable in the creamy finish. The residual malic acid adds crispness to this wine.
